It’s good to be home…

We finally made it home from PA at around 8 p.m. on Monday night, thus again proving our ability to make a long trip even longer. Our good friends and fellow-deputees Dan and Jenn Arnold, who were also traveling from PA and started later than we did, were there to encourage us, however. We found a note on our front door that said, “beat ya.” Thanks, Arnolds.

Anyway, we are so glad to be home. It has taken us the rest of the week to actually feel like we are settled, but that's okay. We really have only have one more long trip for the rest of the year. All that said, we are frequently reminded by the Lord that our hope is not in having a home, or finishing deputation, or anything else besides Him. One thing that deputation has taught us is that we are our own biggest problem, and though our circumstance may change or even improve it is likeness to Christ that we must seek. And none of those nasty sinful things about ourselves that we would like to forget will go away when we arrive in Wales. So, even though deputation has its challenging (can I say negative?) aspects, the Lord is using those things to bring about needed change in our hearts.
