We made it back…

We arrived home last night around 11:30 p.m., having visited Myrtle Beach and then Cheraw, SC, over the weekend. We were thankful that we could see Marcia's grandma one more time. She has been under hospice care for about two weeks now and is not expected to live much longer. She was able to respond to our being by her side, however, and she seemed to light up at the sight of Maggie and Gwyneth. We are so glad that she has a clear testimony of faith in Christ. We are planning to return to MB whenever the time comes for a memorial service.

Our visit to Calvary Baptist Church in Cheraw went well also. We were met by a bad storm as we drove into town (I mean, really bad – thunder, lightning, falling trees, hail, flooded streets, etc.) It was the kind of storm where you are torn between wanting to watch and wanting to flee to safety.:) We were forced to pull into a gas station and just wait until it passed. Things got much better after that, and we enjoyed some encouraging fellowship with our host pastor and his family, as well as a warm welcome from the church family. Spending an entire day at one church always seems to go so much better than being in and out for one service.
