The McLeans and The Shack

Actually, I'm referring to “The Shed.” I thought that by invoking the name of that recent somewhat heretical Christian bestseller I would be able to boost my readership.

The Shed is the place where we put all of the stuff that won't fit into our house. The Shed has also functioned for the past week as my furniture refinishing workshop. Additionally, it seems to hold a mysterious attraction for Maggie, who for some reason is always eager to go see the Shed. Also, much to Marcia's chagrin, the Shed is our laundry room, since the washer and dryer will not fit in the house.

But soon, the Shed will also function as somewhat of a staging area for our img_2729overseas move, yet to be announced. Boxes will go in the house for sorting and then be returned the Shed – packed, sealed and ready to be placed in our container. I discovered that the Shed is comprised of about 150 more cubic feet than the container we will use. So, if it doesn't look like our stuff will fit in the Shed, it probably won't fit in the container either. It's too bad we can't take the Shed to Wales with us. On the other hand, Marcia will be quite happy to do laundry in the house for a change.
