We received notice today from the British consulate that our visa request has been granted! Our visas, passports, and other important documents are still en route, but we know that we have a “minister of religion” visa and can now make official plans to live in Wales. So now we can move ahead with buying tickets, inquiring more seriously into available housing in Abergele, etc. After all the hassle of getting the necessary materials together for our applications, actually obtaining the visa turned out to be pretty simple. I guess my fears of being interrogated under a bare light bulb by men in dark suits demanding secret information were somewhat founded. Anyway, we are still planning our departure for the second week of November.
We had a wonderfully refreshing time on vacation last week, by the way. I hope to post pictures in the near future.
