Some recent news. We had our first after-school club yesterday. We are holding it in a room in the Leisure Centre (basically a rec center) every Thursday afternoon, 3:30-5:00. So, for our first day of the club we had a brother and sister come, plus our own kids. Not exactly an impressive start, but we have to start somewhere, right? I think we're going to try to do some more canvassing and praying, and we'll see how things go. We're planning to do it throughout the autumn school term, which ends in December.
Another big thing going on for us right now is that we are planning to move in a few weeks. We have lived in our flat for nearly a year now, and it has been great. But at some point a month or two ago we began to think that we probably did not want to live here for our entire first term. Living in the very center of town has its advantages, but there have also been a few drawbacks to this place as well – no yard, lots of stairs just to get inside, no yard, no neighbors that live around us (because we're over a shop), and did I mention we don't have a yard? The problem was that the rental house market in Abergele is extremely tight – not sure why, but there just isn't much available. But we did find a cute little three bedroom house just down the street from the Nicholsons, and we are planning to move on October 23 or 24, which is exactly a year from the day our lease began on our flat. Can't believe it's been almost a year. So, we've got a lot to do in the next few weeks.
