Batory visit wrap-up

We had a great time with the Batorys and finally dropped them off in Birmingham this past Monday. Our time with them was encouraging and challenging. Of course, it was extremely helpful to get their perspective on what is going on in the work here, as well as in our own lives. Ministry plans, dealing with church problems, parenting, co-worker relations, evangelism, and many other topics all came up during their time here, and it was all profitable.

Our family especially enjoyed having the Batorys in our home. In fact, we found out the morning after the Batorys arrived that the Maggie had actually climbed into bed with them during the night! We never did get a clear explanation from Maggie as to what she thought she was doing except that she said that she thought it was Joe and Abbie. Mrs. Batory was kind enough to let Maggie snuggle a bit, and then took her back to her own bed. So, that really got our bonding off to a good start, I suppose. To make the bonding experience complete, I even enjoyed an avocado smoothie with the Batorys the last morning they were here.

Of course, Marcia is the main reason that the Batorys visit went so well. Without her constant service to everyone else, things would not have gone nearly as smoothly as they did. She continues to be an excellent hostess and an awesome cook, and we all benefited!
