While Dr. Batory was here, I brought him along to speak to the boys that I work with at the local youth centre. It went really well and opened quite a few avenues of conversation with them that I hadn’t had before. I’m looking forward to following up on that tomorrow morning.
Along with speaking at the youth centre, we also were able to go over to the Inclusion centre at the high school. “Inclusion” is where students are sent when the school is looking for some other way of dealing with them besides expulsion. The only reason we were able to visit Inclusion is that the lady that runs the youth centre is also the chair for the board of governors for the high school. Anyway, Dr. Batory spoke to the kids in Inclusion, and the lady who runs inclusion then invited Joe and me to help out with a few of the work projects they do with the kids there. We are still waiting to find out more details, but it looks like we will be able to help a few hours every week or so, if we want to – which we do. Please pray that this door stays open.
