Or is that “footy”? I’m not sure how they spell it. In any case, that’s what I was doing for about an hour this morning with some high school boys. I showed up at the school today at 9:10 to help a teacher with the Year 10 boys Land Studies class, only to discover that the teacher was out sick and that they wanted me to take the class outside and play football with them. I don’t think I was required to play personally, but the boys seemed generally pleased that I did. I’m about one notch above absolute rubbish as a footballer, but that may have emboldened some of the lesser-skilled players to join in who would not have otherwise. Maybe playing football with them was the best introduction I could have had. I’m looking forward to getting together again with Chesney, Simon, Jack, Ian, Justin, and the others.

Steve, I’m impressed, and I mean it!
Thanks, James. I was just glad for the chance to mix with the kids.
Steve,
What a great break through with these kids! I am sure you will learn to play if you practice! Will be praying for continued ministry opportunities with these kids.
Talked with Tim yesterday. He will probably be here by tomorrow. We are so looking forward to having Tim and Bethany and little Leah close by. I know your folks are already enjoying them.
Laurie and John had a great time with you guys.
Praying for you
Aunt Bev and Uncle Pete.

Wow, what a great opportunity! Wasn’t there a supply teacher sent? Sounds a bit odd.
However, I think it’s spelt ‘footy’ unless perhaps by a 14 year old girls, who love the -ie endings!
Yes, a supply teacher showed up about 15 minutes after class was to begin. She seemed relieved to be off the hook for that hour. Thanks for the spelling clarification.
